These are great, very warm. I can wear them in 20-30 degrees Fahrenheit without long johns and be perfectly comfortable. I like the pockets, and the fit around the hips. I'm 6' 4" with a 42" waist and the XXL fits perfectly. There are two issues with these pants. First, the pant legs are too wide, especially at the bottom. I'm sure this is to make room for ski boots, and this is a common feature on snow pants, but I use these for hiking so I'd prefer a more athletic fit on the legs. It's not a deal breaker for me but they do catch on the heel of my hiking boots sometimes, just a touch. The other issue is the material, it's that whooshy stuff that makes a bunch of noise when it rubs between your thighs. I wanted burton snow pants for this reason, they have really nice shell material, but they were even wider in the pant legs and waaaaay too long. These have been worn on 4 separate ski trips now. The fit and comfort are top notch. The leg vents are a nice addition. The weather has been as cold as 8 degrees and as warm as 50 degrees and the pants performed extremely well. I pair them with a Smartwool merino 250 base layer. Warm, dry, and they look nice too! I am 6 foot and weigh 160 pounds. Bought the medium.I really wanted to like these pants, but the large was too large for me (5'8", 180 lbs, 34" waist), and they are not the quality I expected from The North Face. The retail price on these pants is $160, which initially seems fair, but the lack of features and average materials don't seem to be all that special, so $160 seems high. These pants have only three pockets, but they do have crotch vents which are great to have. Also, they are high-waisted. If you like your belt-line to ride on your hips then the crotch of these pants will be hanging pretty low. You'd be better off using suspenders to get them to ride at the right height for you. I returned these for a refund.I ended up buying and keeping a pair of Burton Men's Cargo Snow Pant Regular Fit that are much better; eight pockets, a continuous crotch vent, small loops on three of the belt loops for light items, an iPod cord pass-through, elastic drawstrings to pull your pant cuffs off the ground, fully taped seams, and all made with first-rate materials. Considering these pants have so many more features, are made of better materials, and cost $40 LESS (as of Feb 9, 2020) than this North Face pant, the decision was pretty easy for me. Burton wins! Also, this item is mislabeled. These are Freedom Pants, NOT Breakaway Visor.I ordered a 2XL. On the manufacturer tag, they put a sticker on that says it is a new item and a 2XL. But if you look at the picture, the original label says it is XL. Looking at the tag sewn on the pants, it says XL. Disappointed that I am going skiing tomorrow and now I don't have the right ski pants to wear.Very well made pants. Kept me warm and dry in temperatures as low as -10 in the mountains of New Mexico and during the polar vortex in Texas. Even when standing in snow knee deep. The pant gators are awesome and stayed put.Great quality but the sizing is not accurate, their M is more like a L.Really nice and warm, love them…I’m about 5-10. 205lb’s with a 34/30 Builda size large is really big on me (two base layers and a pair of carharts). On and still big, just keep in mind for ordering. Really nice.I'm 6'-2" 230lbs. bought the 42" waist XL Regular Freedom insulated pants for skiing at local resorts in Lake Tahoe. The waist fits perfect. The length seems an inch or so too long. I'm glad that I didn't buy the longer length. The legs are roomy and I can bend deply at the knees and hip without binding. I would recommend.Go up a size
